WFLF TESTIMONIALS

WFLF PROGRAM REVIEWS

"The work that Wild for Life Foundation does on the behalf of horses and humanity is beyond honorable, it is sacred! My husband and I were fortunate enough to visit Wild For Life's Wild Horse Rescue and Sanctuary in California. We so enjoyed our personal, behind-the-scenes tour with The Founder and Executive Director, Katia Louise. What an incredible endeavor this organization has undertaken as they to continue to serve their mission to help starved, injured, abused and abandoned horses." - Jacqueline Osborn

"As an equine advocate, contributor, fund raiser, and rescuer for years, the Wild For Life Foundation is one of those organizations I have total confidence in supporting. It is a moral responsibility for us to insure that those rescues with the kind of integrity and commitment as displayed by the Wild For Life Foundation, remain vital, intact, and able to care for every animal who enters their gates. If everyone had the compassion and tenacious will exhibited by Katia Louise and the Wild For Life Foundation, we would never have to worry with our tears about these beloved companions who have been greater than the wings of our souls; they are the very definition of our indomitable spirit as a nation and I salute Ms. Louise and her associates for their tireless efforts." - Kimme Black

SAVING AMERICA'S HORSES"contrasts shots of noble, beautiful, galloping animals... with well-researched, shocking statistics." –VARIETY.

“Saving America’s Horses – A Nation Betrayed” is a must see film for anyone who cares about a horse. I have been involved with horses and also in the thoroughbred racing industry nearly all my life. I have likewise been involved with several organizations that provide homes for thoroughbreds after the end of their racing careers. Yet this film was a sobering wake up call to the need for all horsemen and horsewomen to do more to ensure that our beloved horses are protected. My unexpected awakening by “Saving America’s Horses” has made an indelible impression that has moved me deeply to act as best as my resources allow to ensure that everyone is truly educated about this issue and the solutions which all deserve." — Bing Bush Jr, Equine Attorney, Racehorse owner

“Saving America’s Horses — A Nation Betrayed” powerfully sets the dangerous expulsion of America’s mustangs from public lands and the predatory exploits of the domestic “horse industry” against the underlying threat of commercialized slaughter. Outstanding, convincing footage and expert testimony exposing the legal, ethical, economic and humane issues of an immensely complicated subject: saving America’s horses from unspeakable cruelty and its wild burros and horse herds, from vanishing off public lands forever. —Vickery Eckhoff, FORBES.COM

EQUINE MANAGEMENT AND CARE

"I have been practicing equine medicine in Southern California since 1979. I have worked with multiple aspects of equine practice, including reproduction, sports medicine, geriatric and rescue medicine and animal welfare. I have attended, as an equine veterinarian, the Wild For Life rescue in Anza, California, 2016 to current 2017, and have found the operation to be committed to providing good care for all the rescued horses and donkeys.
Wild For Life rescue provides a quality environment for the equine they rescue. I have always observed all horses and burros under the care of Wild for Life to be in good weight and health.
Wild For Life rescue provides all the necessary veterinary care their horses require including the provision of proper medication and treatment for the horses. Wild For Life Foundation truly cares for the animals they rescue, feed and house. The members of Wild for Life devote lots of time to maintaining the facility and caring for the health of the animals. Specifically, and additionally, I assessed the Mustangs under the care of Wild for Life Foundation and unequivocally say they do a great job." - Fred Zadick, DVM

"I have been a biochemist in California for the past 25 years working in the scientific research sectors of companies engaged in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic research. For the past decade, my focus has been in equine nutrition. I educate horse owners, trainers, veterinarians, ranch and stable owners and operators on equine nutrition based on the guidelines recommended by the National Research Council’s nutrition requirements for horses. I also own a feed store which supplies the equine community with a primarily forage based diet compromised of 60-70% grass hay with the remainder being alfalfa. This scientifically calculated ratio delivers a diet with the correct daily provision of protein, fiber and other essential nutrients. Wild For Life Foundation (WFLF) has been buying quality grass hay from my feed store while less expensive grades of hay are available. WFLF always orders and receives the same premium quality hay ensuring the horses under their care receive the highest quality hay. " - Sandra J. Brunet

"I am a California state licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and was the attending DVM for WFLF's Lifetime Equine Refuge from June 2010 through July 2015. Over the course of that time, I attended to 19 horses under the care and custody of Wild for Life Foundation rescue facility. All of the horses under the care and custody of Wild for Life Foundation were always well cared for. There were multiple times that medical emergencies came up over the years and WFLF never hesitated to arrange for proper and timely veterinary treatment. The animals under their care additionally received quality preventative care. The preventative care included timely vaccinations, deworming and even dental work in an effort to reduce any illnesses. Each animal’s diet was adjusted to fit that animal’s particular needs. Overall, I have personally observed all the animals under the care of Wild for Life Foundation Lifetime Equine Refuge receives excellent care." - Tiffany Porter, DVM
